The most commonly used blade materials can be divided into 6 categories: 1) Cemented Carbide is suitable for non-ferrous metal turning and milling, welding tools, high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys and other difficult processing 2) Coated carbide blades are the most common turning and milling tools with the widest application range, with various PVD and CVD coatings 3) Metal ceramic blades are relatively new materials that have both ceramic and metal characteristics and are widely used. They are mostly used for semi-finishing to finishing 4) Ceramic blades are mainly used for the processing of cast iron, steel, hardened materials and high-temperature alloys. 5) Cubic boron nitride (CBN) blades are mainly used for fine turning of hardened steel, high-speed cutting of gray cast iron, and rough turning of chilled cast iron. 6) Polycrystalline diamond (PCD blades) are mainly used for aluminum alloys and related products, non-metallic and non-ferrous metal materials, and are not recommended for iron-containing materials.
